We got to have a look at the updated/new Palm Centre gear yesterday and it’s looking good. The pictures show sample products so the colour of the kit I’m told will actually be bright red not the dark red colour shown. All of the products will be available from XXS (kids L) – XXL.
Here are some of our findings:
Centre Jacket & Smock
There’s been some updates made on the Palm Centre Jacket (used to be the Centre School jacket) and they’ve also added a Centre Smock to the range.
They’ve made some changes on the size labelling making it easier to identify and issue in centres and clubs with a much clearer system of colour coding to size.
The cuffs have also been updated; the adjustable wrist seal has been changed to a neoprene cone removing the Velcro for a better seal against the water. The Drawstring waist has been removed too and the jelly type gathering has been added to the back instead. This is the same stuff that’s used in their higher end cags.
A handy little hanging tab has been added to the jacket too which fits in with the colour coding scheme for easy size identification. The smock has a hood size adjuster which makes the hood helmet compatible. This again fits into the colour coding scheme.
This year Palm has done away with the Centre Pants and introduced the Centre Salopettes. These have adjustable braces and ankle cuffs. The tabs on these cleverly fit into the colour scheme for sizing along with the indicator on the front, again the rear hanging loop and the colour coded inside back of the bib. These have reinforced seat and knee panels made from an extra layer of heavyweight fabric.
